In collaboration with the Global Tourism Economy Research Centre, UNWTO is preparing the UNWTO/GTERC Global Youth Tourism Report, about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their tourism and travel preferences and motivations as well as about their vision for the future of sustainable tourism in the global framework of the Agenda 2030 and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Impact of COVID-19 on Youth – Focus on Asia and Italy

Prior to the main event in Sorrento (Italy), a series of online events with the participants took place to allow them to meet, gain new skills and knowledge, exchange ideas and raise awareness about the importance of youth empowerment in the tourism sector. It was also an opportunity to promote peace, mutual understanding and sustainable development through tourism. The activities aimed to help participants to get acquainted and prepare for an active participation in the event.
